Lee Scharf and Andy Miyares both of Florida
ended the Long Course season in the USA breaking each one more record.
Lee broke his record in the 100 meters Breastroke and Andy broke his
record in the 400 meter freestyle.
Lee and Andy are ready for Portugal and
together with their team mates of TEAM USA are looking forward to the
Championships in Portugal. Andy and Matt Jensen want to say HELLO to
William B. from Australia, Peter form South Africa, Clinton from
Australia, and Ricardo from Mexico. Looking forward to see them as
well as all the other swimmers who they met in Ireland.

Two US swimmers headed to Portugal for the 4th World Championships broke Long Course Records Age Group 25 to 34 in a Master Swim Meet held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at the end of June.
Lee Schafer set records in the 50 and 100
Breastroke and Andy Miyares broke records held by Australian Swimmers in
the 50 Free, 100 Free, 200 Free, 400 Free, 1500 Free, 50 Butterfly, 100
Butterfly, 200 Ind. Medley and 400 Ind. Medley.
Both swimmers are training very hard as part
of TEAM USA who this year will count with 10 swimmers.
They are also planning to compete in the
Junior Olympics Long Course Championships at the end of July and in the
Coral Springs Last Chance LCM meet, August 10th.
Team USA is made up of swimmers from all over
the USA as well as coaches who accompanied them to the Special Olympics
World Games in China who are graciously giving their time to this
swimmers at their own expense.
Both Swimmers and parents of TEAM USA are
very grateful and are looking forward to a great performance as well as
a great time in Portugal and hope to bring the Championship to the USA
very soon.
