SUMMARY:11th World Down Syndrome Swimming & Artistic Championships
DESCRIPTION:2nd Trisome Games – Turkey 2024\nThe 11th Down Syndrome World Swimming & Artistic Championships was a resounding success.    The event took place in the newly constructed\, 50m swimming pool\, at the Akdeniz University\, Antalya\, Turkey.   25 countries participated. \nWinning country was Great Britain\, with Portugal second and Mexico third.    Congratulations to all the swimmers.   Many regional and age group records were attained. \nGreat Britain – Top Country \n \nIn the T21 category 4 world records were achieved  –   Vicente Pereira\, Portugal (100 freestyle & 100 butterfly);  Camino Martinez\, Spain (800 freestyle); Minke Janse van Rensburg\, South Africa (50 freestyle). \nIn the MOSAIC category records tumbled\, with only 1 record remaining “unbroken”.   There were a record number of ladies competing this year.   Ellen Stephenson\, Great Britain (100\, 800\, 1500 Freestyle; 50\, 100\, 200 Backstroke);  Jagoda Litner\, Poland (100\,200 Breaststroke; 50\, 100 Butterfly; 200 IM);  Ada Zehra Anlatici\, Turkey (50\, 200 Freestyle\, 50 Breaststroke);  Alex Edwards\, Great Britain (200 Butterfly). \nRELAY world records.\n4 x 100 Freestyle – Women –  Neutral (Makarova\, Aleshina\, Sahapova\, Tupitsyna)\n4 x 100 Freestyle – Mixed   –   Great Britain  (Lyons\, Freeland\, Hatfield\, Evens)\n4 x 100 Medley – Men –  Portugal  (Almeida\, Vaz\, Pereira\, Matos)\n4 x 200 Freestyle – Women – Great Britain (Faithfull\, McCrindle\, Freeland\, Hatfield)\n4 x 200 Freestyle – Men – Italy (Roncato\, Scotti\, Piccinini\, Tononi) \n\nTOP INDIVIDUAL SWIMMERS \nT21 – Male  \nVicent Pereira – Portugal \nT21 – Female \nCamino de la Riva Martinez – Spain \nMosaic – Male  \nJose Gonzalez – Columbia \nMosaic – Female \nEllen Stephenson – Great Britain \n\nRESULTS:    \nSWIMMING:    \nDay 1 Results:  \nDay 2 Results: \nDay 3 Results: \nDay 4 Results: \nDay 5 Results: \nARTISTIC SWIMMING : \n\nResults –  22nd March 2024           \n\n    \n  \n
